                       Karate for Women
The recent surge in the number of crimes has unfortunately also resulted in the increase in the number of eve-teasing and offensive activities against women in our neighborhoods.
At KB Roy Karate Classes, with the help of our immaculate tutors, we help prepare women for self defense skills and techniques. Besides all, these techniques also teach the MOST IMPORTANT part, which is to prepare the mind to be stable at all situations at all the times. It has been observed that individuals with strong body and excellent skills fail to defend themselves because their mind stops working in these kinds of situations. It is very commonly seen in women.
The three major reasons women are easy targeted
1.      Lack of Awareness
2.      Body Language
3.      Wrong Place

Karate for Senior Citizens
They are the most respected in our community and society, yet we they are the most neglected lot owing to a host of reasons. Our karate for senior Citizen program develops strong co-ordination between limbs. The exercises are built considering their age group and medical conditions. Major emphasis is laid on synchronizing and developing meditation skills to achieve ease of life.

“AS THEY SAY A STRONG GLARE IS ENOUGH TO KEEP THE CRIMES OFF- BAY.”
Karate is coined by the words“Kara”, meaning “empty” and “te”, meaning “hands”. The two words in Japanese terminology mean empty hands. So the true core meaning of Karate is to train and enable an individual to defend himself against physical aggression without reliance upon weapons. Though it is also possible, to use certain tools or instruments in one’s defense depending on the circumstances.
Contrary to what people believe, Karate is not about attack. It is even not about defense. Attack and defense are mere components of karate. It is an art that cultivates courage and develops physical and mental health through practice.
Karate is a product of 20th century; its roots can be traced to ancient India, China and Okinawa (Japan). India had greatly influenced these fighting techniques with the development of Yoga and associated breathing and meditation techniques. Many people consider India to be the birthplace of the Martial arts.
During the 5th and 6th centuries Indian combat techniques resembling modern Karate were transferred to China by Zen Buddhist monks. At the end of the 5th century, a Buddhist priest named Bodhidharma travelled to China from India to teach at the Shaolin Monastery. There he taught the monks a combination of Yoga and Indian fist fighting that became the fighting system of Shaolin.
As their religion prohibited the use of weapons the monks had to rely on these methods of empty-handed fighting know as Shorinji Kempo. Shorinji Kempo also included methods of fighting with natural weapons such as the “Bo” – a walking stick carried by the monks. This Chinese art was never to revive in China but before dying out, Kempo had spread to the Ryukyu Islands where it was to give birth to Karate. In 1879, the Ryukyu Islands became Japanese provinces and Okinawan Karate went to Japan.
Masters Anko Itosu and Kanryo Higashionna were the foremost Karate instructors in Okinawa. Anko Itosu developed the Shuri-te school and Kanryo Higashonna developed Naha-te school of Karate. The schools were named after the two largest cities – Shuri and Naha.
Chojun Miyagi was Kanryo Higashionna foremost student and he later founded the Goju-Ryu in 1927-28. The Karate further evolved and developed into several subtypes of Karate like the Goju-Ryu, Shotokan, Gohaku-Kai, Isshin-Ryu, Pangai-noon amongst the many others, in Japan.
Goju-Ryu, (Japanese for “hard-soft style”) is one of the main traditional Okinawan styles of karate, featuring a combination of hard and soft techniques. Both principles, hard and soft, come from the famous martial arts book Bubishi used by Okinawan masters. Go which means hard, refers to closed hand techniques or straight linear attacks; Ju which means soft, refers to open hand techniques and circular movements. We are teaching Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate, commonly says  " Mother of Karate".
